Ottava Rima

The velvet gray and somber skids along

to brush the tips of feathers tall and proud,

to lay its tears across their tendrils strong

while praising flashing fire with echoes loud

and clear across reality. Their song

sings volumes of the state I’m now endowed:

caught up between the sun and earth below,

in waiting for release from rain and snow.

Ok, caught back up with NaPoWriMo. Now that I’m poemed out for the day…

  1. You’re a braver and more talented writer than I. I had to go off prompt today because I just couldn’t make my brain work around the iambic pentameter. 🙂

  2. You’re honing your talent quite impressively, Sean. I don’t know if you can tell, but I can. Your love for fiery and vivid imagery is being tamed and united to a clarity of meaning and expression, and it’s very fun to watch. Keep up the fantastic work.
