Morning Praise

Voices out of misty meadows

rise to touch the drowsy sun,

and the tender morning glory

melts into the river’s run.

Love is flowing like a river,

ever pulsing in my veins;

with the sun I rise with shining

eyes and walk before the rain.

Gloom has fled before the coming

of the sun’s ethereal rays,

and the angels dance in rapture

in their ceaseless hymns of praise.

Christ has brought this day unto me,

carried me with love, and I

have heard Him speak His peace within me,

lifting my soul to the sky.

Palms outstretched, my heart enraptured,

gently soaring, singing sweet,

voice enthralled in tongues angelic

calls the light my dark to meet.

In the morning shines Your glory

through the cloudy firmament,

light eternal, joyful ringing,

food celestial heaven-sent.

Let my tongue be ever silent

if I should forget Your praise.

Jesus Christ, Divine Romancer,

let me love You all my days.

  1. Gorgeous and peaceful. And the fact that it rhymes makes me happy. *wink*

  2. I agree with animusatramenti. This was really, really good.
